The Design Process

All my designs start out as hand rendered illustrations or paintings, taking much of my inspiration places that I been and lived in.  Sometimes it starts with a sketch that has been sitting in my sketch book for ages, and at other times it is the idea that comes first.

Next I scan the artwork and make any necessary changes digitally before turning it into a pattern. This is probably the slowest part of the process and takes lots of adjustments until I feel that it looks right.  Samples are then and put them up around the house so that I can consider how the pattern works. To sure that the colours are right I put the samples up around the house and take the time to study them,  and check all the details and how the wallpaper looks in different lights. It gets signed off for printing only once I am sure that the design is looking at its best.

All that is left to do then, is to share the new printed wallpaper designs with all of you and send it out into the world!
